Baripada: Two persons were killed and another sustained critical injuries in a collision between two motorcycles in Khunta area of Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district.
As per preliminary reports, the mishap took place near Dhanapana chhak on Udala-Baripada state highway under the jurisdiction of Khunta police station.
The deceased youths have been identified as Abhijit Behera of Khunta area and Ramakant Hembram of Kahnheibandha area.
The injured, identified as Jagannath Dehuri of Gothopura area, has been has been admitted to hospital for treatment.
Sources said Ramkant was returning from Udala on his bike late on Friday night while Abhijit and Jagannath were coming from the opposite direction when the two vehicles collided head-on. Locals rescued the three and rushed them to hospital at Udala where doctors declared two of them dead. The injured was later shifted to the district headquarters hospital (DHH) at Baripada.
