Koraput: Two persons have reportedly died after being crushed under landslide in a cave due to torrential rain in Odisha’s Koraput district.
According to a delayed report, Jaydev Dharua and Trilochan Dharua of Haladigunda village under Baipariguda police limits along with three others had gone to a nearby Malipadar forest to collect minor forest produce on Tuesday. As it started to rain heavily, they took shelter in a case on the banks of Saberi river. But they did not return home even after the rain subsided.
On the following day, some villagers had gone to the river for fishing and went inside the cave due to the rain. They found Jaydev and Trilochan crushed under heavy boulders in the cave. They rushed to the village and informed their families.
Later, a team from Baipariguda police station along with Fire personnel went to the cave and recovered the bodies of Jaydev and Trilochan. The police sent the bodies for post-mortem and launched an investigation.
However, the three others, who had accompanied Jaydev and Trilochan, remain missing.
