2 Members Of Bihar’s Nut Gang Arrested For Money Snatching In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police on Monday arrested two members of the notorious Nut Gang of Bihar. They have been identified as Badal Gowala (34) and Aniket Das (22).

They were wanted in a series of money looting incidents near various banks in Bhubaneswar.

Bhubaneswar DCP Uma Shankar Dash said the gang members were wanted in four money snatching incidents between March 5-10. They had fled with Rs 12 lakh cash in all the cases which were reported from areas under Saheed Nagar, Kharavel Nagar and Chandrasekharpur police limits.

Police have seized Rs 1,50,386 cash, two fake Voter ID cards of the accused  and three mobile phones.

They are also suspected to be involved in the Rs 7 lakh cash loot case of Rourkela, he added.

Police intensified patrolling near banks and of the teams also chased the criminals on March 10, but they managed to escape, the DCP added.

The accused use stolen motorcycles to commit crimes and often targeted people returning from banks.

The DCP again appealed hotel owners to share details and photographs of their visitors to strengthen security measures.
