Bhubaneswar: Two persons went missing after a fishing boat reportedly capsized in

the Brahmani River in Odisha’s Angul district during a sudden storm.

The incident took place near Nandijhari village under Khamar police limits on Thursday as some young men ventured into the river for fishing.

Sources said the boat overturned in the middle of the river as strong winds and heavy rain lashed the area. Some of the youths managed to swim back to the shore. However, two persons were yet to be traced. One of them was identified as Anil Jamunda.

Family members immediately alerted the fire service personnel after frantic searches failed to locate the missing youths. Rescue teams launched operations late Thursday night and continued efforts through Friday, but no trace of the two has been found so far.
