A 27-year-old Taiwanese woman who travelled from Australia to Rajkot with her fiance, was found to be infected with coronavirus.
According to Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC), the woman and her fiance – who work and live in Australia — arrived at Ahmedabad airport on December 18 before travelling by road to Rajkot to get married.

The Taiwanese woman experienced minor symptoms, and, on testing, she tested positive on December 21. She is in home isolation and in stable condition, while all other family members’ samples have come out negative.
A second Rajkot inhabitant, who works in China, also tested positive for the virus after returning to hometown Bhavnagar with his daughter.
Samples of both persons have been sent to a virology lab in Gandhinagar for genome sequencing.
It remains to be seen if they are found to be infected by the BF.7 subvariant, which is driving the surge in cases in countries like China and Australia.
