Sambalpur: The Hirakud Dam authorities opened two more sluice gates to release flood water from Mahanadi River on Monday.
At present six sluice gates of the dam are open. The water level on Monday stood at 609.52 ft
Dam authorities informed the water level is rising in the upper catchment area of the reservoir due to heavy rain. .
The authorities had released the first flood waters of this season by opening two gates on July 11.
