Bhubaneswar: A man and his daughter-in-law were critically injured after a group of miscreants hurled crude bombs at their house in Padmakesharpur area of Odisha capital following a dispute over collection of loan interest.
As per preliminary reports, the incident took at Padmakesharpur village under the jurisdiction of Mancheswar police station late on Wednesday night.
According to locals, a clash took place between two groups over collection of interests on loan. Subsequently, both groups indulged in heated exchanges and threw stones at each other. Crude bombs were also hurled at the house of the victims.
Sources said the attackers hurled crude bombs at the house leaving two members of the family critically injured.
The two were rescued and rushed to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack for treatment.
On being informed, a team of police personnel reached the place and started an investigation into the incident.
Two platoons of police force have been deployed in the locality to avoid any further untoward incident. The bombing incident has created panic among people in the area.
Notably, violence resurfaced in Padmakesharpur area after a brief lull of four months.
