Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Sunday apprehended Assistant Agriculture Officer lock Technology Manager and Block Technology Manager Surendrasingh Bundela of Agriculture Office in Nabarangpur’s Umerkote on charges of accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000.
According to Vigilance sources, they had demanded the illegal gratification from a beneficiary of Jalanidhi scheme to credit the subsidy amount in his favour towards digging of borewell on his land.
The entire bribe money was recovered and seized from their possession.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are being conducted at three locations linked to Parida and two locations of Bundela to ascertain whether they have accumulated assets disproportionate to their known sources of income.
A case has been registered under Section 7/12 of Prevention of Corruption (amendment) Act, 2018, and further investigation is underway, the sources added.
