Angul: Two passengers were reportedly killed and 10 others seriously injured as an OSRTC bus overturned in Odisha’s Angul district on Sunday.
According to sources, the bus of Odisha State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC), carrying around 50 passengers, was coming from Baripada to Pallahada in Angul district.
While the bus was going on National Highway 149, its driver lost control over the vehicle near Adhina Gaham village under Khamar police station in Angul. As a result, the bus fell into a roadside ditch and overturned.
Several passengers came under the bus while others were inside the bus after the accident. The locals informed the police and Fire Brigade and started rescuing the passengers.
Later, the police along with Fire services personnel reached the accident spot and joined the rescue operation. All the injured passengers were rushed to the sub-divisional hospital at Talcher.
But two passengers succumbed to injuries in the hospital, while 10 others were undergoing treatment for their injuries.
