Bhubaneswar: BJP leader and Parliamentarian Aparajita Sarangi, who is seeking re-election from Bhubaneswar, on Friday urged Khurda Collector and Returning Officer to deploy Central Paramilitary Forces in the constituency while alleging that the BJD is planning to rig the May 25 polls here.
She claimed that two retired police officers – Nagendra Mund and Shantanu Das – have been engaged by the ruling party for the purpose. “My sources have revealed that they have been entrusted the responsibility of ensuring rigging at Ward No 46 of Bhubaneswar Central (Bayababa Matha area & Saheed Nagar), at Unit 8 (Mali Sahi), and also in Khurda municipality area,” the letter stated.
The duo had retired as additional SPs, it added.
Aparajita requested for deployment of Central Paramilitary Forces at all these locations “along with alertness with sector
officers and sector magistrate prevent any untoward incident which may vitiate the polling process.”
