2 Shops Reduced To Ashes In Major Fire In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Amid heatwave condition in Odisha capital, a major fire broke out in two shops in a busy commercial area of the city on Sunday.

As per reports, the fire started in Supreme Machinery and Tools dealing with vehicles batteries in Bomikhal near Rasulgarh in the afternoon. Though the locals informed the Fire Brigade, the fire spread to neighbouring shop KK Trading.

The personnel of two Fire tenders had to struggle for more than two hours to bring the flames under control. While the exact cause of the fire has not been ascertained, short circuit is suspected to have started the inferno.

Goods worth lakhs of rupees were reportedly reduced to ashes but nobody was injured in the incident as the shops were closed on Sunday.

The locals said the same shop had caught fire around 6 months back.
