Angul: State Task Force (STF) and State Drugs Control authorities on Thursday sealed two medicine shops for selling fake medicines in Odisha’s Angul district.
As per reports, the STF was informed that the Maa Budhi Medicine Store near old bus stand in the town was selling spurious Pantocid DSR capsules. The STF informed the Drugs Control Administration who conducted an investigation on Wednesday.
The officials of the administration conducted a raid on the shop and found the spurious drugs in its stock. After the hop owner revealed to the raiding squad that he had procured the capsules from medicine wholesaler Ganapati Enterprises in Amalapada of the town, the task force carried out raid on the latter.
Following the raids, the authorities sealed both shops and registered cases against 4 partners of the shops at SDJM Court, Angul.
Pantocid DSR capsule is manufactured by Sun Pharma Laboratories Ltd. It is commonly used for treatment of indigestion, heavy bloating, heartburn and stomach ulcers. It has some side effects such as breast pain, irritation, dry mouth, hip fracture.
