Rourkela: With the arrest of two siblings, police on Thursday claimed to have solved the recent jewellery shop loot in Odisha’s Rourkela.
While arresting the two brothers, the Plant Site police recovered 512 gm of gold ornaments from them, sources said.
The accused have been identified as Abhiraj Soni and Ayush Raj Prasad from Rourkela.
As per reports, Soni’s friend was working at the jewellery showroom. The two targeted that shop and looted around 856 gm gold from the showroom in a planned way.
Gold worth Rs 52 lakh was looted from that jewellery shop by the accused.
Rourkela DSP, Anil Kumar Pradhan said the police have recovered 512 gm of gold jewellery from the two brothers, though the complainant had claimed that 856 gm of gold was looted from his shop.
The accused are being questioned and further investigation is underway to ascertain the involvement of any other accused in the crime.
