2 Soldiers Injured In Encounter With Terrorists In J&K’s Anantnag

Srinagar: Two soldiers were injured after a fierce encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists in the Ahlan Gagarmandu area of the Anantnag district in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday afternoon.

The injuries were reported after the terrorists fired on security forces, which had launched a cordon and search operation in Ahlan Gadole following information about their presence in the forest in the Kokernag subdivision, the NDTV reported, quoting sources.

Kashmir Police Zone had earlier informed about the gunfight through a tweet.  “Encounter has started at Ahlan Gagarmandu area of District Anantnag. Police and Security forces are on the job,” a post on X said.

The report further stated that reinforcement has been rushed to the area to flush out terrorists entrenched in Ahlan Gadole forests.

On September 13, 2023, three officers, two from the Army and one from the Jammu and Kashmir police, were killed during an anti-militancy operation during a gunbattle with terrorists in Kokernag forest.
