Sambalpur: A two-storey building collapsed following heavy downpour in Odisha’s Sambalpur town on Thursday.
No casualty was reported due to the mishap as the building was not being used by anyone for a long time. Nobody was staying in the building, sources said.
Following incessant rain since Wednesday, the incident took place in the Khetrajpur area of the town in the morning when major portions of the structure caved in.
The building which housed a dharmshala earlier was left abandoned due to its dilapidated and hazardous condition. The building collapsed all of a sudden amid heavy rain. Steps will be taken to clear the debris, sources added.
