2 Swept Away By Floodwater In Odisha’s Keonjhar

Keonjhar: Two persons are missing after being swept away in Baitarani river while collecting wood from floodwater near Anandapur barrage in Keonjhar district on Friday.

According to sources, a villager Jagabandhu Nayak of Kumunia village had gone to Anandpur barrage to collect wood with two of his friends. They entered the floodwater with the help of tubes but got swept away in the strong current.

Fire personnel reached the spot and rescued Jagabandhu. He was admitted to a hospital in Anandpur. However, other two persons are still missing.

Rescue operation is on to trace the missing persons.
