Jajpur: Two teenaged brothers drowned in river Kharasrota near Kuakhia under the same police limits in Odisha’s Jajpur district on Thursday.
The deceased have been identified as Dinabandhu (18) and Dibakar (16) of Chintapalli village under Rasulpur block.
As per reports, the two brothers had gone to the river to take a bath and lost balance following which they slipped into deep water. Some villagers present at the spot raised an alarm and after a search managed to rescue Dibakar in an unconscious state. They rushed him to Madhuban medical and later to the DHH where the doctors declared them dead.
A team of fire brigade personnel reached the spot and retrieved the body of Dibnabandhu. A pall of gloom descend on the village following the death of the two brothers.
