Keonjhar: Two persons were admitted to hospital after sustaining injuries in monkey attack in Odisha’s Keonjhar district.
According to reports, Upendra Jena and Surabhi Dalei of Salapada village under Ghasipura police limits of the district were bitten by the monkeys on Tuesday. Following the incident, both of them were admitted to Community Health Centre (CHC) at Anandapur in the district.
Sources said Upendra was admitted to a hospital at Cuttack due to ill health around 8 days back. He was discharged from the hospital on the day and had returned to the village. But he was attacked by the monkeys and again hospitalised.
Similarly, another woman of the village had sustained injuries after being attacked by the monkeys. Considering the rising incidents of simian attack in the area, the villagers have demanded immediate steps by forest department to ensure their safety.
