2 Women Critical As Hyva Truck Overturns On House In Odisha’s Kendrapada

Kendrapada: A woman and her daughter-in-law were critically injured after a hyve truck loaded with stone chips overturned on their house in Pattamundai area of Odisha’s Kenrapada district on Monday.

The incident took place at Krushnanagar Baghua village under the jurisdiction of Pattamundai police station when the hyva truck was proceeding towards Talchua this morning.

The heavy vehicle overturned after losing balance and fell on the roadside house of the victims, sources said.

The injured, identified as Kalpana Giri (60) and her daughter-in-law Manisha Das (22), were rescued by locals and sent to the district headquarters hospital (DHH) in Kendrapada for treatment.

On being informed, a team of police personnel visited the site and seized the vehicle.

Locals said the accident took place because of bad condition of the road, which is full of potholes with uneven surface.
