2 Young Girls Arrested For Smuggling Ganja In Odisha’s Balangir

Balangir: Police have arrested two young girls for allegedly smuggling ganja in train and seized the contraband in Odisha’s Balangir district.

As per reports, the two girls came to Balangir railway station each carrying a trolley bag and sat on bench in a platform waiting for the train on Wednesday afternoon. Suspecting their movement, the Government Railway Police (GRP) told them to open the bags.

On opening the two huge bags, the GRP personnel found ganja weighing more than 22 kg. The GRP informed the Excise department about the ganja carried by the girls.

The Excise officials came to the station and seized the ganja. During questioning, the girls were dientified as Rajani Bagh of Malkangiri district and Chanchal Harijan of Nabarangpur.

They admitted that they had procured the ganja from Bhawanipatna and brought it to Balangir. Later, the Excise officials arrested the girls and forwarded them to the court. They have launched an investigation to ascertain the source of the contraband.
