Kendrapada: A motorcycle crashed into a tree, instantly killing two youths and critically injuring one, in Odisha’s Kendrapada district on Wednesday.
The accident occurred at Sihoapada-Hatasahi road under Rajkanika police limits. The deceased have been identified as Raju Bal and Mipul Das of Namatara-Patana village at
Rajkanika.
According to sources, the three youths were travelling home when the motorcycle they were traveling on veered out of control and slammed into a roadside tree. Locals spotted the injured lying on the road and informed police. The three youths were immediately admitted to the Community Health Centre (CHC) at Rajkanika. “Two youths aged 20-21 years were declared brought dead. A postmortem will be conducted on Thursday,” said medical officer of Rajkanika CHC, Dr. Jyoti Ranjan Behera.
He further added that the other youth has been shifted to district headquarters hospital at Kendrapada for critical care.
Meanwhile, police have launched an investigation to ascertain the circumstances leading to the accident.
