Paralakhemundi: Two youths were killed as their motorcycle fell off a bridge in Odisha’s Gajapati district on Tuesday.
According to sources, the youths identified as Mantu Pal and Tukuna Singh of Chheligada village under R Udaygiri block of the district, who work outside the state, had come on a visit to their village a few days back. The two friends had gone out on some work on the day.
While they were returning, the biker lost control and the motorcycle fell from the bridge into a swamp near Dumba park in R Udaygiri by breaking the protective wall. The height from the ground to the bridge was estimated to be 15 feet.
On the impact of the fall on the ground, one of them died on the spot while the other was seriously injured. The locals rushed the injured person to the community health centre (CHC) at Chandragiri. But he succumbed there.
On being informed, police went to the accident spot and sent the body of deceased person for psot-mortem. They have registered a case and started investigation.
