Odisha: 20 Injured As Truck Crashes Into Bus En Route To Puri With Pilgrims

Khurda: Twenty people were injured after a truck rammed into the bus in which they were travelling, at Gada Khurda Chhak on National Highway 16 in Odisha on Friday morning.

According to sources, the accident took place when the bus carrying 45 pilgrims was en route to Puri from Gudari in Rayagada district. It was part of a government sponsored trip to newly-inaugurated Srimandir Parikrama Prakalpa.

The front portion of the truck and the rear portion of the bus were damaged in the crash. The victims were rescued by police and admitted to district headquarters hospital. They were then shifted to Goshala field, where a temporary camp has been set up to provide refreshments to pilgrims by the district administration.

Police have initiated an investigation into the accident.
