Guwahati: As many as 20 people were killed in a series of landslides in southern Assam on Monday.
Several others were injured in the landslides that occurred in three districts of Barak valley in the state.
According to reports, seven fatalities were reported in Cachar district, seven in Hailakandi district and six in Karimganj district.
Rescue teams were deployed at the mishap sites in the region, which has been experiencing heavy rain for the past two days, NDTV reported.
