Malkangiri: More number of COVID-19 cases have been reported from the urban localities of the tribal-infested Malkangiri district in the last 24 hours.
The urban pockets have also been witnessing a steady rise in local contact cases.
Of the 24 new cases, 19 are from Malkangiri Municipality, one from Balimela NAC, three from Chitrakonda block and 1 from Korukonda block.
Among them, 20 are local contact cases – 18 are from Malkangiri Municipality and two from Chitrakonda block.
These new cases have pushed the COVID-19 tally in the district to 590. With two deaths and 346 recoveries, Malkangiri now has 242 active cases.
