Rourkela: At least 20 persons were injured as a bus carrying them overturned near Rourkela in Odisha’s Sundargarh district on Sunday.
According to sources, the private bus with around 40 passengers had left Rourkela in the afternoon to go to Kalunga-Balanda in the district.
As the bus reached Kalunga Chhak under Brahmani Tarang police limits, its driver lost control over steering and the vehicle overturned. Around 20 passengers including women and children were injured in the accident.
On being informed, Fire Brigade and police teams rushed to the spot and sent the injured passengers to Rourkela Government Hospital (RGH). All the passengers’ condition was stated to be stable.
The traffic movement on the road was affected for some time due to the accident. The police have seized the bus and launched investigation after registering a case.
