Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 toll in Odisha touched 8,322 on Thursday with four more deaths due to the deadly disease being confirmed in the last 24 hours.
According to Health Department sources, two deaths have been from Bhubaneswar and one death each from Kendrapada and Mayurbhanj districts.
Here are the details of the deceased after an audit:
1.A 51 years old male of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from Post Percutaneous Transluminal Coronary Angioplasty, Acute Kidney Infection on Hemodialysis.
2.A 72 years old male of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus & Hypertension.
3.A 72 years old male of Kendrapada district who was also suffering from Bronchial Asthma.
4.A 20 years old female of Mayurbhanj district.
Notably, Odisha has reported 6,437 COVID deaths during the second wave against 1,876 in the first wave last year.
There were 346 casualties due to the disease in the state in September. Similarly, 2,056 fatalities were registered in August, while July saw 1,903 deaths, June 1,272 and May 737, said sources in the Health Department.
The second wave of the pandemic has claimed the lives of 43 children and adolescents in Odisha. As many as 13 of these deaths were reported between August 10 and 31.
