200 Litre Illicit Country Liquor Seized, One Arrested In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Police have seized around 200 litre of country liquor and arrested one person in this connection in Bhubaneswar.

As per reports, a special team from Khandagiri police station in the city conducted a raid on an undisclosed location following reliable inputs about the stock of country liquor. During the raid, the police team recovered the country liquor kept in 200 pouches and seized those.

The police also arrested one Ganapati Das from the spot. During questioning, he revealed to the police that he had procured the illicit liquor from Khallikot in Ganjam district. He also admitted that he has been suppling the country liquor to different slums in the city for some time.

The police said Das was arrested several times earlier for his involvement in illicit liquor trade. They have registered a case and forwarded him to court on Monday.
