Bhubaneswar: The Election Commission of India has approved as many as 16 auxiliary polling stations for simultaneous Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in Odisha’s Khurda district.
In a letter to returning officers of four Assembly seats in the district on Saturday, Khurda collector and district election officer informed about the auxiliary polling stations.
As per the letter, the auxiliary polling stations include one in Bhubaneswar Central Assembly segment, five in Bhubaneswar North, nine in Ekamra and one in Khurda seat.
With this, the total polling stations in the four Assembly constituencies have gone up to 948. The auxiliary polling stations have been formed in those polling stations which have more than 1,600 voters in urban areas and more than 1,500 voters in rural areas.
