Let’s take a look at this year’s 7 highest-grossing Hindi films that showcased Bollywood’s strong domestic hold and expanding international appeal:
1.Dhurandhar: Written and directed by Aditya Dhar, spy-thriller ‘Dhurandhar’ left cash registers ringing at the box -office by collecting over Rs 1000 crores worldwide in 21 days since its release.
The film features Ranveer Singh as the lead, along with Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal and Sara Arjun in pivotal roles.
The story revolves around ‘Operation Dhurandhar’, a mission to dismantle terrorist links in Karachi’s Lyari.
2.Chhaava: Starring Vicky Kaushal in the lead, epic period drama ‘Chhaava’ collected over Rs 700 crore worldwide.
Directed by Laxman Utekar, the film revolves around the life and legacy of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the fearless son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and his battle against Mughal emperor Aurangzeb.
Besides Vicky, the film also features Rashmika Mandanna and Akshaye Khanna in key roles.
3.Saiyaara: Helmed by Mohit Suri and produced by Yash Raj Films, ‘Saiyaara’ starring newcomers Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda turned out to be the biggest romantic blockbuster of 2025.
Without any promotional strategy, the film managed to collect over Rs 500 crore globally. Moreover, the storyline was so gripping that it apparently left audiences crying in theatres.
4.War 2: Directed by Ayan Mukerji and produced by Aditya Chopra under Yash Raj Films, ‘War 2’, a sequel to the 2019 film ‘War’, is the sixth instalment in the YRF
Spy Universe.
The film stars Hrithik Roshan, N T Rama Rao Jr and Kiara Advani in the lead roles, alongside Ashutosh Rana and Anil Kapoor in supporting roles.
The story follows Kabir Dhaliwal, a former RAW agent, who becomes a major threat to national security after going rogue. Vikram Chelapathi, a special unit’s officer is assigned to neutralize him.
The film received mixed reviews and managed to collect just over Rs 300 crore.
5.Sitaare Zameen Par: Directed by R S Prasanna and produced by Aamir Khan and Aparna Purohit, ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ is a spiritual sequel to the 2007 film ‘Taare Zameen Par’.
Starring Aamir Khan and Genelia Deshmukh in lead roles, the film, which is a remake of Spanish film ‘Champions’ revolves around a basketball coach and his team of specially-abled players.
The film collected around Rs 266 crores worldwide.
6.Raid 2: Directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, crime-thriller ‘Raid 2’ is a sequel to the 2018 film ‘Raid’.
The film stars Ajay Devgn, Riteish Deshmukh and Vaani Kapoor along with Tamannaah Bhatia’s guest appearance.
The film follows the return of IRS officer, Amay Patnaik (played by Ajay Devgn) after 7 years, who tracks another white-collar crime.
Even as the film received mixed reviews from critics, it managed to collect Rs 244 crores worldwide.
7. Housefull 5: Co-written and directed by Tarun Mansukhani and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, Warda Nadiadwala and Firuzi Khan under production banner Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, comedy-thriller ‘Housefull 5’ is the fifth instalment of the Housefull franchise.
The film features an ensemble cast including Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh, Sanjay Dutt, Fardeen Khan, Shreyas Talpade, Nana Patekar, Jackie Shroff, Dino Morea, Jacqueline Fernandez, Nargis Fakhri, Chitrangada Singh, Sonam Bajwa, Soundarya Sharma, Chunky Pandey, Nikitin Dheer and Johnny Lever.
The film features two different versions, Housefull 5A and Housefull 5B, each ending with a different climax.
The film managed to collect over Rs 248 crore worldwide.
