Bhubaneswar: Chief Spokesperons of the Odisha government on COVID-19 Subroto Bagchi on Thursday said 21 persons had come in contact with the fifth coronavirus patient, who had tested positive for the infection the previous day.
With the second COVID-19 patient having recovered and discharged from AIIMS-Bhubaneswar, the number of active cases in Odisha stands at 4.
The Odisha government had begun tracing the contacts and ascertaining the travel history of the 60-year-old man, who is a resident of the posh Surya Nagar area here, soon after the case was detected.
“A team is working to find out those who came in contact with the fifth patient undergoing treatment at AIIMS, Bhubaneswar,” Director, Medical Education and Training, Dr C B K Mohanty had told journalists.
Some of his family members have been quarantined, sources said.
What is worrisome is that the latest patient has multiple co-morbid conditions.
