22 Jawans Killed In Ch’garh Maoist Encounter: Odisha CM Condoles Deaths

Raipur: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has strongly condemned the attack on security forces by the Maoists in Sukma district of neighbouring Chhattisgarh today. Earlier in the day, the President and Prime Minister expressed deep anguish over the martyrdom of jawans.

A total of 22 jawans were killed and 31 others sustained injuries in an encounter with Maoists in Chhattisgarh on Saturday. The face-off on the Sukma-Bijapur border resulted in the deaths of 22 jawans. One soldier is still believed to be missing.

Odisha, which has been able to curb Maoist menace to a large extent condemned the attack.  The Chief Minister  took to twitter and wrote
