Bhubaneswar: Kandhamal reported its maiden coronavirus case on Monday with two Tamil Nadu returnees testing positive for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours.
According to the I & PR department, these two cases have been detected in quarantine centres.
With this, the virus has spread its tentacles to 23 of 30 districts in Odisha, whose affected tally touched 876 on Monday.
No cases have so far been reported from Rayagada, Gajapati, Malkangiri, Bargarh, Sonepur Nabarangpur and Nuapada districts.

The 48 new cases detected in Odisha in the last 24 hours are migrants and in quarantine centres.The highest of 16 cases have been reported from Jajpur, followed by Ganjam (15), Nayagarh (3), Puri (4), Balangir (2), Kendrapada (3), Boudh (1), Cuttack (1), Khurda (1) and Kandhamal ( 2), the department added.
