Bhubaneswar: As many as 25 Odisha Fire Service personnel were awarded DG’s Fire Service Disc for exceptional and meritorious service on the occasion of Independence Day on Sunday.
Director-General of Fire Services M Akhaya handed over the Disc.
The Disc can be awarded any time during the calendar year irrespective of cash or other awards received by the fire personnel in the same year.
Praising the decision of the state government to institute this award, Akhaya said 30 Fire Service personnel will be awarded the DG’s Fire Service Disc every year. “This award will motivate the Fire Service personnel to strive for excellence in their service in future,” he added.
