Bhadrak: Properties worth over lakhs were gutted in a major fire at Routasahi village under Guhalia panchayat of Bhandaripokhari block in Odisha’s Bhadrak district late on Monday night.

According to reports, fire struck a house in the village due to a short circuit which later spread to the nearby houses. The intensity of fire became severe when an LPG cylinder went off and another house caught fire.

While 25 houses of 17 families were gutted, two cattle were charred to death. Besides, three bikes and cash worth Rs 40,000 were also destroyed.

A Fire brigade team rushed to the village and doused the fire.
