257 Kg Of Ganja Seized, 4 Arrested In Odisha’s Koraput

Jeypore: Police seized around 257 kg of ganja while being smuggled in a min-truck and arrested 4 persons in this connection in Koraput district on Thursday night.

On being informed about transport of ganja in a white colour TATA 407 mini-truck, the IIC of Jeypore Sadar police station A Mahakud along with a team of forces waited at Patraput bridge in the town for arrival of the vehicle.

As the mini-truck reached the spot, the police stopped it and carried out search in presence of Executive Magistrate. During the search the ganja stacked in plastic bags was found. The contraband, which is estimated to cost around Rs 25 lakh was seized.

The police arrested four persons travelling in the vehicle and forwarded them to court. Besides the mini-truck, the police seized 5 mobile phones and Rs 38,000 from the possession of the arrested persons.
