Malkangiri: The south Odisha district of Malkangiri reported the highest single-day spike of 66 COVID-19 positive cases and among them, 26 are corona warriors.
Giving details, Collector Manish Agarwal said 15 of these cases have been reported from Malkangiri Municipality and 13 from Balimela Notified Area Council (NAC) while another 38 have been reported from six blocks of Kalimela (7), Mathili (25), Khairput (3) Podia (1), Korukonda (1) and Malkangiri (1).
Among them, 23 are local contact cases which include 19 from the sub-divisional hospital at Mathili, one administrative officer, one corona warrior and two symptomatic referral from Flu and Fever Clinic, the collector added.
With these new cases, the COVID-19 tally in the district has gone up to 372. While 180 patients have recovered from the infection, the number of active cases stands at 192.
