Baripada: A total of 26 girls of Chamakpur Tribal Residential Girls’ School under Thakurmunda block in Odisha Mayurbhanj district have tested positive for COVID-19.
COVID tests were conducted on the students on Thursday after many of them showed symptoms of cough and cold. There are a total of 259 students and 20 employees in the school.
Initially, 22 students tested COVID positive, while four others were found infected on Friday. All 26 students have been kept in isolation on the school premises.
Karanjia Sub-Collector, Thakurmunda BDO, Tehsildar, and a doctor team are expected to reach the school to take stock of the situation on Saturday.
