Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 positive cases in Bhubaneswar rose to 5119 on Saturday with 277 new cases in the last 24 hours.
Among 277 cases, 181 are quarantine and 96 local contacts.
Out of the above, six staffers of a government office in Acharya Vihar area and three from IG Park area have tested positive.
Apart from this, 2 policemen, 2 CRPF staffers, 7 staffers of three private hospitals and 5 hotel staffers have also tested for positive for the virus.
The city has also reported 37 new cases from the slum areas of which the highest 6 cases have been detected in the Tarini Basti in VSS Nagar area.
On the other hand, 133 patients of the city have recovered from the infection.
With 23 deaths and 3251 recoveries, Bhubaneswar now has 1839 active cases.
Out of a total of 8162 positive cases in Khurda district, Bhubaneswar has 63% cases.
The capital city in the last 14 days since August 1 has recorded 2107 positive cases with an average of 150 cases per day which is 41% of the total positive cases.
In terms of recovery during the period, 1582 have cured of the disease which is 31% of the total positive cases.
