Dharmagarh: At least 28 bonded labourers, including five minor girls,
were rescued from Dharmagarh area in Kalahandi district on Saturday.
Basing on a specific information, a team of Dharmagarh police carried
out a raid in the area and rescued the victims from a private bus in
which they were being trafficked to Chhattisgarh, police sources said.
Efforts are on to reunite the minor girls with their family members
and nab those involved in the trafficking racket, the sources added.
On December 6, as many as 30 bonded labourers were rescued by police
from Boden bus stand in Nuapada district. The labourers were being
trafficked to Andhra Pradesh in a bus named ‘Maa Durga’.
