Keonjhar: As many as 28 inmates of an engineering college’s hostel have been affected by jaundice in Odisha’s Keonjhar district.
The students of Government Engineering College at Keonjhar complained of having jaundice to the hostel authorities. All of the affected students were staying in dormitory of the college hostel.
On being informed about students’ illness by the college authorities on Friday, the Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) had sent a medical team from the district headquarter hospital (DHH) to the engineering college.
The medical team reached the hostel and examined 12 students as the rest students had left for their homes. They also tested blood samples of the affected students. After the students tested positive for jaundice, they were prescribed medicines by the medical team.
