Malkangiri: The southern Odisha district of Malkangiri reported 36 fresh COVID-19 cases including 29 BSF personnel.
In a tweet on Tuesday, district collector Manish Agarwal said that the 29 BSF personnel, who had returned from duty in Bihar, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal have been accommodated in Malyabanta Boys Hostel, Junior Science College and Girls Hostel.
Of the remaining cases, four were detected from the temporary medical centre (TMC) of MV-7 area. They are the returnees from Tamil Nadu and New Delhi.
Three patients, who were detected from home quarantine in MV-12 of Korukonda block, are returnees from New Delhi.
The district administration has launched active contact tracing of the new patients.
Out of total of 96 positive cases in Malkangiri district so far, 44 are active cases while 52 patients have been cured of COVID-19.
