Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s corona affected tally crossed 1500-mark and touched 1,517 on Tuesday with 79 new cases being detected in the last 24 hours.
Among these, Cuttack district saw the highest 16 COVID-19 patients while Sonepur reported its maiden case. The remaining cases were detected in Balangir (14), Ganjam (5), Jajpur (2), Balasore (4), Khurda (4), Puri (4), Kendrapada (6), Nayagarh (3), Angul (1), Keonjhar (8), Kandhamal (7), Dhenkanal (3) and Jharsuguda (1).
According to Health Department sources, 71 of these cases have been detected in quarantine centres.
Details of the patients are awaited.
With seven deaths and 649 recoveries, Odisha now has 861 active cases.
