City Carnival With Popular Bollywood Entertainers To Raise Bhubaneswar Temp During Odisha Hockey WC

Bhubaneswar:  FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup fever is gradually picking up and the city authorities have planned a massive stage at the Exhibition Ground here as good as that of 2018 to entertain residents of the capital, spectators, and visitors. Many Bollywood entertainers have also consented to be part of the grand celebration.

Programmes have been lined up to raise the city’s temperature during the chilling winter and these are part of Dot.Fest, which will run from January 13 to January 29, and in between, the entertainment part will be organised from January 15 to January 24.

  • A photo exhibition will put on display pictures and memories of old and new Bhubaneswar — the journey since foundation day. The old and new pictures related to temple heritage and culture will also be on display.
  • A night bazaar will be close to the Exhibition Ground, where Odisha’s art and crafts will be exhibited and sold
  • Utkalika, the government’s handloom arm, will put up 33 stalls at Ekamra Haat.
  • International Food Festival: There will be 35-40 food stalls, including international cuisines (especially of hockey-participating nations) at the festival being organised by the Hotels and Restaurant Association of Odisha.
  • Night Bazaar: Flea markets will be set up at many places in the ground, where Dot.Fest entertainment arena will come up and mostly deal with local items — dry food, small art pieces, and clothes.
  • Bhubaneswar storytelling festival (BhuFesto): The festival is being organised by Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) in collaboration with Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation, Odisha Tourism and city-based Bakul Foundation from January 14-17 on the sidelines of the World Cup
  • Trails — nature trails, heritage trails, art trails
