New Delhi: Delhi Police’s Special Cell on Thursday exposed yet another drug network in the national capital.
This time, police seized 200 kg cocaine, worth Rs 2,000 crore, from a warehouse in Ramesh Nagar area on Thursday. The confiscated drugs were concealed in ‘namkeen’ (snack) packets.
Following the October 2 drug bust south Delhi’s Mehrauli, over Rs 7,500 crore worth of cocaine has been confiscated in a matter of eight days. In between, drugs and raw materials worth nearly Rs 2,000 crore was found in a Bhopal factory.
In the latest breakthrough, the Special Cell tracked the drug supplier through GPS and zeroed in on him in west Delhi’s Ramesh Nagar.
The accused escaped to London, but cops managed to seize the drugs.
It is believed to be part of the same syndicate Delhi Police exposed earlier this month.
Police suspect an international drugs smuggling syndicate is behind the back-to-back cocaine seizures in Delhi.
