Bhubaneswar: Technical glitches in the electronic voting machines (EVMs) delayed voting in several booths during the second phase of polling in Odisha.
In Balangir, polling was delayed in a booth at Loisingha while people had to wait because of a fault in the EVM in booth no. 278 at Kurula village and booth no. 51 in Agalapur village. A similar situation was found in the booth nos. 65 and 68 in Balangir and model booth no. 39 at Tureikela.
In Kandhamal district, polling has been delayed in booth nos. 101 and 113 in Phulbani, booth no. 179 at G. Udayagiri and 54 at Mahasingha.
In Sundargarh district, the EVM went out of order in booth no. 171 in Sundargarh Sadar and 206 in Talasara while polling was delayed in the six booths of Kendudihi, Fakirmunda, Chhidakudara, Tatala, Usukula and Khalasaghat in Bonai block. However, latest reports from the district say polling in around 70 booths has been delayed due to the technical glitches in the EVMs.
Apart from this, polling has been delayed in booth no. 27 at Jahada in Askak, the reports added.
