Manali: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the world’s longest highway tunnel Atal Rohtang Tunnel in Himachal on October 3. However, there have been three accidents reported with the motorists driving recklessly.
Three vehicles hit each other after one over-speeding biker tried to overtake another.
Ignoring the rule of ‘no overtaking’ inside the tunnel, the accident was recorded by the CCTV cameras inside the tunnel.
Luckily, no casualties or serious injuries have been reported so far.
Gaurav Singh, superintendent of police, Kullu said, “Many tourists and motorists have taken to over-speeding and racing in the newly opened tunnel, which is a cause of concern for the authorities. Showing a complete disregard for traffic rules, tourists and motorists have been clicking selfies while riding. The ones violating the traffic rules will be challenged.”
