3 Arrested For Looting Govt Official By Using Toy Gun In Odisha

Cuttack: Three criminals were arrested by Choudwar police in Odisha’s Cuttack district for allegedly looting cash and mobile phone from a man on the pretext of giving him a lift.

Based on a complaint lodged by the victim, Choudwar police constituted a team and nabbed the three and recovered the stolen cash and other articles. Police also seized a car and a toy gun used by the miscreants to threaten the victim while committing the loot.

As per the police complaint, the loot took place on January 28 when the victim, who works at the office of the district education officer (DEO) in Kendrapada, was returning to Cuttack. He was waiting for bus at Duria Chhak when the trio trapped him after offering a lift to drop him at Cuttack.

The man boarded the car of the miscreants who later forcibly looted cash of Rs 22, 000/-, a mobile phone and his office bag containing some documents.

All the accused persons were antisocial and have been involved in series of similar cases in Kendrapada and other areas. All three accused persons have been arrested and forwarded to the Court on Sunday.
