Deogarh: Reamal police arrested three persons with over 100 litres of counterfeit foreign liquor during a routine vehicle checking on Chhatabar Road in Odisha’s Deogarh district late on Monday.
The arrested have been identified as Sridhar Pradhan of Balijori village, Prasanta Suna of Bhitarpad, and Tapan Sahoo of Phulsarnali village under Reamal police limits.
According to sources, the accused took a u-turn after spotting police but were chased and nabbed. “The accused will be forwarded in court today. The accused have been smuggling liquor for the past two months from Rourkela,” said Reamal police station IIC Satyabrata Rout.
