Keonjhar: Three Bok Bam devotees were killed and two others critically injured after a container truck rammed into an autorickshaw carrying them near Khireitangiri toll gate in Odisha’s Keonjhar district on Monday.
The kanwariyas were returning home from a Shiva temple at Patana after pouring holy water at the shrine on Shravan month Monday when the accident took place, sources said.
While three devotees reportedly died on the spot, two others sustained grievous injuries. The injured were rushed to a hospital for treatment. Their condition was stated to be critical.
The five belonged to Telkoi area in the district. On being informed, a police team reached the spot and launched a probe into the incident.
Earlier, two Bol Bam devotees had died while 13 others sustained injuries after being hit by a car near Betnoi under Aska police limits in Ganjam district, late on Sunday.
